> Create Bootable ISO disk image with proper drivers + XP

Perhaps you have had to install XP on a machine with SATA hard drives which are not recognized by the windows installation (Windows sucks tongue.gif) and had to mess around with damn floppies which are like archaic tongue.gif

Anyways if you have or have been stuck in a prediciment where you have no floppy and so cannot install windows (All the better I say - get a proper OS like Linux by I digress).

This recently happened to me because I was downgrading a computer for a friend from VISTA to XP (One of those new sony VAIO laptops - damn things have no XP drivers out so it took a bit finding compatible drivers, but sonys cheap ass and they dont make anything themselves so I was able to get the drivers from the hardware manufacturers themselves). Of course the SATA drive is not recognized by Windows Redundant Installer, so I did some searching around and found this and I thought you guys might find it useful if you ever find yourself in that prediciment.

NLITE

Nlite is basically a tool which allows you to take your windows XP installation cd, Patch it to include drivers, and rew burn it. And its not only drivers. You can add and disable ANYTHING you want for the installer. Which has immense benefits and is an amazing tool. I cant believe its not used more.

CODE
http://www.nliteos.com/download.html

Basically:

Download and install nlite (you need .NET framework to run)
Insert windows XP installation cd
run nlite

Select the CD / DVD drive where the installation cd is as the source
Pick a folder to store the files in on your HDD
NLITe will walk you through the above process and the copying.

Now when you get to the screen where you can do stuff go wild. And once you are done patch it. After its done patching it will exit. Restart it and go back to that main menu with alll the options. Click "burn bootable iso" and voila! a nice crisp XP disk with drivers and other features.

Hope you guys find this useful!
